My name is Sarah…obviously. Did that make you smile? It made me smile…which I like to do. I’ve begun “the second half” of life, that is, if I live into my late 80’s or early 90’s as my grandparents and great-grandmothers did. This April I’ll hit my Silver Anniversary…Yikes! 25 years of marriage to a man who makes me smile(of course), and quite often makes me laugh. My hubby was active duty Air Force and recently retired on 30June2012, so I was a “Milspouse” for 24 years. Our daughter finished school a month before the hubby retired (two BA’s in four and a half years, woohoo!) and our son will finsh college this year. Neither one lives at home (at the moment), and our 15 year old family doggie recently passed away, so we are now totally and completely “empty nesters”. We have entered a new phase of life and are trying to figure out what our next steps should be. Sometimes life seems frustrating (I have a “chronic illness” & a body trying to fall apart), but I found that if I just make myself smile…a lot of the time it makes me feel better. 🙂
Things that make me smile: My family, my God, drawing, painting, dancing, singing, when I manage to take a great photo (only happens once in a while), and…what I write. Hopefully some of my posts will bring a smile to your face as well.
FYI, smiling is good for your health. 🙂
